WHAT: ISTE TEACHER STANDARDS REFRESH FORUM

WHY: As an ISTE affiliate, the Arizona Technology in Education Association (AzTEA) is committed to ensuring that all Arizona educators have the opportunity to provide their input and have their voice heard in order for the ISTE Standards remain relevant, even aspirational, so that they continue to serve their primary purpose of preparing students for their future. The new teachers standards will be based on the 2016 Student Standards.

The goals of this PD session include:

  • Obtain feedback from Arizona educators to develop teacher competencies that reflect the ever-changing educational landscape.
  • Engage many voices and stakeholder groups to help define the priorities for learning with technology and answer the question: What do students need to know and be able to do to be successful in the future?
  • Provide an interactive professional learning opportunity for individual participants via guiding questions, provocative discussions and deliberations about priorities for teachers and students and using technology for learning.
